Airport shenanigans!

Bismillah (In the name of God).
So I have so much to share I don't know how to keep up with my thoughts. Since I left the airport so much has happened. Okay so lets start where we left off, Inshallah!
So I'm in the Jeddah airport just sitting there trying to get myself together. After 4 failed attempts to figure out where to go next, just sitting there just observing my surroundings. One of the things I intend to work on is building up more patience. I know what your thinking..,.... (you have lots of patience, LOL j/k), but I think everyone can always work on that especially in high stress situations. So I sit next to a women that I recognize from my first flight. I asked her where she was going and when she said Medina, I felt so much better, Alhamdulillah (All praise due to God). She new enough English to hold a small conversation, so that was good enough for me. I asked here where I could get my money converted and she pointed me in the right direction.I was so happy after that, not realizing that I had about another 7/8 hours until I would arrive in Medina, and the 12 hour flight, with not even 10 minutes of sleep was making me very vulnerable to getting burnt out. My husband told me to exchange my money so I could try to call him and let him know I had arrived, and also to get something to eat. So I exchanges 100 dollars and as he told me, I got 375 back (372 actually, after the fee). How exciting is that, I felt like they gave me 272 dollar by mistake:)
After that I decide to go through security so I could perhaps get some shut eye lololol ( yea right, that didn't happen). So I browse through the gift shop, and then go to the bathroom again to freshen up as I planned before, until I was rudely interrupted by a cloud of smoke:)I go in the bathroom and immediately I saw exactly what one of the sisters in the States had described before I left. A hole, that's right a hole in the floor which translates to our "toilet". Although I consider myself some what flexibly I just cant quite imaging how I would get down like that. And what about the elderly people that can't get down like that any more. Well on a good note, I saw that they also had 2 "toilets" so that made me happy! Maybe one day I may have to use the "hole" as I like to call it, but as long as there's a toilet around "I'm good":)
So after freshening up I sit down next to a women and greet her with salams (peace). She returns the greeting, and I was so happy when she started speaking to me in English after I told her I didn't speak Arabic (yet), and that I was from America. She told me she was from India and that she just returned back from vacation. I was so happy to talk with her and I felt like I met my first friend:) She told me she was a nurse in a city near Mecca, and that she was headed back to work. I trusted her, and she trusted me within minutes. She watched my bags when I went to purchase internet access and I watched hers when she went to get something to eat. She was so nice, she even shared her Tea and croissant. As I was eating it, I'm like umm this is a good croissant, then all of a sudden, I was overcome with sourness lol. I never new there was such thing as sour dough croissants, but okay!
Then, LOL I realized it had what I assume to be feta cheese in it:) The lady was so nice she even offered her phone to me so I could call my husband and tell him that I made it safely, and Inshallah would see him soon (hooray). Well I saw him, but it was later rather then sooner lol. I thanked the women, give her a hug, and in exchange she gives me a rupee as a keepsake, wasn't that nice. I'll always remember that women her name was Bilquees. I think I'm gonna call her and thank her again, Inshallah!
So I finally get to board the plane. I go down an escalator though double doors and onto a bus, which takes you to where the airplane is, Hollywood style, LOL! I board and it just so happens that I get seated right next to the lady that told me where to exchange my money. Take OFF! Not, so I guess we were having technical difficulties so after about and hour and a half of sitting on that plane, they decided that we are going to switch planes. I didn't know exactly what was going on at the time, because everyone was speaking Arabic, but I caught on fast. So we switch planes and Alhumdulillah were off!
After a short 50 minute flight I look out the window and see all the historical mountains surrounding Medina, "Mt. Uhud" ( I felt my eyes welling up with tears at this point). Never in a million years would I have thought I would be going to Medina Saudi Arabia to live. So now we land and I'm super excited anticipating being reunited with my husband after waiting patiently for over 3 months. We land and I watch 2 men come with the cart to take the luggage (I'm thinking wow thats not a lot of luggage for so many people). So I get inside and Guess What...They don't have my luggage:) This whole time after about 30 hours of being up (from the time I left for the airport in jersey)I was doing pretty good, I remained rather calm in situations that could easily get one stressed, and remembered that this all was a test. Believe me when I tell you I tried so hard to hold back the tears lolol I really did, but I was a delusional mess. I felt the tears role down when I called my husband telling him I was here but my bags were lost. I had a feeling this would happen so in my carry on, I packed a few items to last for 2 days if I didn't get my luggage right away.
I was more upset because I wanted to show my husband all the gifts I got for him, and I new that I wasn't going to rest until I hand my bags in hand. So after describing my bags to the man, I finally was able to see my husband! I was happy despite all the great events that happened but man I know I looked a HOT mess LOL sorry honey.
I jumped in the car and we were off to our new place and I couldn't wait to see it. Since he purchased it about a month ago, HE decided that It would be better as a surprise so I was very nervous yet excited LOL. Well when he opened the door I was shocked. He said it was nice, but i wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it is and as big! Although not like what most Americans are use to, I really love it. One thing about apartments here though is that the kitchen only comes with a sink LOL. No cabinets, no refrigerator, No shelves, No stove, Nada, zip, zilch lol. The good news is that you literally get to put what you like in it from the start, like an empty canvas. What women wouldn't be excited about that. So I'm now at the place that I'll be calling home for awhile, inshallah! can't wait to decorate:)
After I clean the kitchen and wipe down the china closet I'll let you know all about my adventurous shopping trip! thanks for reading this Novel!
salam
